6 Days-Samburu/Mt Kenya/Lake Nakuru/Baringo&Bogoria

DAY 1 AND 2

We leave Nairobi for Samburu National Reserve at 0900 hrs. This park is situated within the lands of the colorful Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai people. A picnic lunch will be served on the way and we shall arrive in time for an evening game drive.
The park harbors a number of wildlife species rarely found elsewhere in any large numbers. These include the Grevy's gazelle, the reticulated giraffe and the Bees orynx, all species only found north of the equator.
The Ewaso Ngiro river which rises some hundreds of kilometers to the west is fringed with giant acacias and offers shade and sustenance to wildlife that comes to the river. Elephants find solace and contentment from the river and can be found bathing and drinking in a spectacle of unconscious pleasure.
Dinner and an overnight rest at our place of accommodation.

The second day will be spent game viewing in the park. All meals will be served from the area of accommodation.
DAY 3

We shall leave the park in the afternoon and drive to the Aberdares, where we will spend the night at one of the luxurious tree Hotels situated in the lush forests of Mt. Kenya. The Hotels overlook a waterhole that becomes somewhat busy as the sun sets as the animals come to quench their thirst after a long day.
DAY 4

We shall leave the Aberdares in the morning and drive to Lake Baringo where we shall spend the night. This lake lies in the solitude of the semi-desert haven of peace and beauty in harsh, rugged but majestic surroundings. The hippos and the crocodiles are plentiful and are considered harmless by the locals who fish next to them. But visitors are more entranced by the multitude of birds. Bird watching on foot or by boat is only one of the several leisure activities. Others include, fishing, water sports or a visit to the Njemp village where traditional crafts and activities are enjoyed

DAY 5 AND 6

We shall start the day with bird watching at the lake Bogoria nearby which has a spectacle of flamingoes and other bird species. Game is far from plentiful here but this is the most likely place in Kenya to photograph the Greater Kudu. We will then leave for Lake Nakuru National Park, where we will have dinner and spend the night at a Hotel or Lodge of your choice.
We shall start the next day with a morning game drive around Lake Nakuru National Park often referred to as the "pink lake". It is world famous as the location of the pink flamingo whose numbers are often more than a million or two. The lake is also rich in other bird life with over 400 resident species. This park is also the home of endangered black rhino, the rothchild's giraffe, the waterbuck, predators like the lion, leopard, and many others.
We shall then leave the park to arrive Nairobi late afternoon where you will be dropped off at your respective Hotel.
